Yoga for FLEXIBILITY

There are 3 main areas of fitness that we focus on in order to keep our WHOLE body healthy and well: Cardio-Respiratory Endurance is practiced through running, skipping, jumping jacks, dance, jump-rope, bike riding, etc. Muscular Strength & Endurance is increased through push-ups, curl-ups, squats, wall-sits, bicep curls, plank, etc. Flexibility is increased through stretching exercises and a great way to work on our flexibility is YOGA! I like to incorporate yoga into the classroom SOLELY for stretching and flexibility. There are many types of yoga out there - what we do in the classroom together is simple breathing techniques to calm the mind and stretching exercises to strengthen and lengthen our muscles.
